"Wherever I have found life, I have found the will to power." (Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra)
The performance Part 2. Power explores the theme of power and the relationship with strangers/the other through the exploration of the artistic languages of two disciplines: theatre and film.
Five performers and a video installation traverse different stages of human history, seen as manifestations of the will to power. If power is a fundamental engine of the world, then it gives rise to social rules and structures as well as chaos and disaster.
The performance is the second part of the Solidarity trilogy, and is constructed in antithesis to the performance Part 1. Love. The performances that are part of the trilogy work independently, they stand on their own and there is no need to view them chronologically.
"I hope the show will challenge audiences to question more about relationship to power and the ways in which it is declined. It's a show that actually seeks a lot of introspection, even if it doesn't seem that way at first. I don’t want it to be, and I don’t think it is a comfortable show, but that doesn't mean it's heavy, on the contrary, we've worked with a lot of humour." (Petro Ionescu - director)
